  2. Invocation:
    • Begin by invoking the presence of Goddess Kali. You can chant a mantra dedicated to her or recite a prayer expressing your devotion and inviting her to bless the puja.

    • Light the lamp with oil or ghee and place it on the right side of the altar. This symbolizes the dispelling of darkness and the presence of divine light.
  4. Offering Flowers and Incense:
    • Offer fresh flowers to the deity while chanting her mantras or reciting her names. Flowers are a symbol of beauty and devotion.
    • Light the incense sticks and wave them in a circular motion in front of the deity. The fragrance of incense is believed to purify the environment and create a sacred atmosphere.
  5. Water Offering:
    • Take a small plate and fill it with clean water. Hold it in your hands and offer the water to the deity, visualizing it as a symbol of purity and rejuvenation.
  6. Chanting and Mantra Recitation:
    • Chant or recite mantras dedicated to Goddess Kali. The most popular mantra associated with her is the “Kali Mantra”: “Om Kreem Kalikaye Namah” or “Om Kring Kalikaye Namah.” Repeat the mantra multiple times with devotion.
  7. Offering Prasad:
    • Place a small bowl of rice or any other food item as prasad (blessed offering) in front of the deity. This represents gratitude and the act of receiving blessings.
  8. Final Prayers and Aarti:
    • Offer your prayers and express your heartfelt wishes to the Goddess.
    • Ring the bell or blow the conch shell to mark the completion of the puja.
    • If you have an aarti (ceremonial lamp with multiple flames), light it and perform aarti by waving it in a circular motion in front of the deity while singing or reciting aarti songs.
  9. Contemplation and Meditation:
    • After the puja, take a few moments to sit quietly in meditation, focusing on the divine energy of Goddess Kali and absorbing her blessings.
